Sahih Muslim Book 5 – Hadith 251-255
Chapter 35: Stern warning against missing the `Asr prayer.
Ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
He who misses the afternoon prayer, it is as though he has been deprived of his family and his property. (Sahih Muslim Book 5 – Hadith 251)
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Amr al-Naqid narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of al-Zuhri, on the authority of Salim, on the authority of his father. Amr said: It reaches the end of it. Abu Bakr said: It is traced back to the Prophet. (Sahih Muslim Book 5 – Hadith 252)
Abdullah relates on the authority of his father. He who missed his afternoon prayer it is as though he was deprived of his family and property. (Sahih Muslim Book 5 – Hadith 253)
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Abu Usamah narrated to us, on the authority of Hisham, on the authority of Muhammad, on the authority of Ubaydah, on the authority of Ali, who said: When the Day of the Confederates came, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “May God fill their graves and their homes with fire, just as they kept us away and distracted us from the middle prayer until the sun set.” (Sahih Muslim Book 5 – Hadith 254)
Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Muqaddami told us, Yahya ibn Sa`id told us, and Ishaq ibn Ibrahim told us, al-Mu`tamir ibn Sulayman told us, all on the authority of Hisham, with this chain of transmission. (Sahih Muslim Book 5 – Hadith 255)
